Event Post One
The event has now officially started!
This time there is no occurrence of the beloved fog that Haven residents have come to know and fear, and there's no call from a friendly NPC. There's no announcement at all... save for the slow creep of monster footsteps from the subway.
From now until Thursday, 7pm EST, when the next stage of the event takes effect, the following things have changed in Haven:
-> The water in the well is drying up. The level will drop drastically over the 48 hours until it is completely dry. Any character attempting to climb down the well to discover why, will be repelled with enough force to fly into the billboard very hard.
-> Monsters are coming out of the subway again! These can be wholly NPC'd by the players, and may be medium-hard level monsters from any canon represented in Haven. Sentient or playable villains/monsters are not applicable (e.g. Hollows from Bleach are fine, Espada are not). A handy monster meme was put up to share possible monsters. These monsters will mostly congregate around the well, effectively cutting off water supply even before it runs dry.
-> The subways themselves are crawling with monsters. With the enclosed space, it is nearly impossible to make the trip to Haven North and back, and survive it.
-> Snails are appearing around Haven, even inside the apartment block. These are standard snails. But if they are eaten, then the character who ate them will begin to grow a crusty shell on their back.
AS AN IMPORTANT NOTE: The following consequences are listed as an extreme "what if", but characters can still scavenge food from Haven West, as they have always been able to do. This means there is no urgent need to eat the snails at all, or face these consequences.
01 - 10 snails eaten = character's skin grows a little crusty
11 - 20 snails eaten = a full shell starts to morph on the character's back and their skin becomes slimy to the touch
21 - 30 snails eaten = eyes pop out on stalks
31 - 40 snails eaten = the shell grows too large to walk and the character must crawl on their belly
41 - 50 snails eaten = character becomes a very large snail, loses sentience and is out of the event
Any questions or comments, they're welcome here as always.

So, would These be disallowed, then?
I mean, functionally, they're just. Creepy alien bugs, not really acting in the building-of-infrastructure or communicating-with-people order of things. You could argue it either way, is what I'm sayin'.

If they can't hold conversations with characters, I'd be happy to allow them.

So no, they can't hold conversations with characters. Awesome. 8D

i.e. can my character pack down like 20 of them before anything happens to warn him, or is it immediate

They have no emotions that Satou's empathy can pick up on, do they?
