Event: End

Congratulation, Havenites, we've done it!

Two years old exactly! And with that, the anniversary event draws to a close and reserves are open again. Before I get onto explaining the OOC details of the event end, I'd just like to take a moment to offer a sincere thank you to all of you for helping us get to the two year mark. Thank you to my amazing team of helpers, who are both wonderful and insane, and to the best playerbase that any mod could ever ask for. From the only remaining original resident of Haven, to the absolute newest character, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Some of the following information will be repeated in the monthly mod post (October 2nd) due to its importance, as will the reminder for the official test drive meme which can be seen on the main calendar page.

Okay, now only the bit I'm sure you're all waiting for... the event end! It's taken six weeks and 36 mod posts, but it's finally over.

As you can see from this IC post, the combined efforts of everyone have brought an end to Dr. Philip Kite. This is a permanent death, so congratulations, you guys have taken out one of the core pillars of the Yao Corporation. His body will not vanish, and so any character is free to bury, burn, or defile it however they want. However, this has come with some consequences for the residents as well.

One of the reasons that Kite didn't revive, is that the revival aspect to the Uzumaki was damaged badly during the most recent convenience store raid. Kite's death allowed it enough power to revive those who died during the event, but DEATH FROM NOW WILL NOT BE AN AUTO-REVIVE. Characters who die from now on will either have to disappear until the next app round and be soft-reset (though not re-applied for), or will have to be dropped. This may change in the future, if the machine is repaired sufficiently, but until then please be aware of this going forwards. Characters who have been revived now will revive underneath the billboard in Haven West, naked and without any powers. If they usually possess powers, these will take up to two weeks to return fully. Any character who lost their memory, or suffered a temporary physical alteration during the event, will find that the final pulse of power from the Uzumaki will cure that at once.

The severe damage to the Uzumaki means that any cases of spiral madness will now be cured, and there will be a sharp decrease in the number of snails around and about. The barrier around the town has also been damaged, and a lot of the residents are still in the wasteland, so the Yao Corporation have taken drastic measures in order to contain this disaster. The barrier will now encompass the wasteland out for up to three days travel, meaning the surface area of Haven West has now got significantly larger.

Once the fighting is over, the wasteland seems to gain more life. Not a lot of life, but plants can be found scattered around which are edible, and even small creatures such as desert hares or hawks can be trapped and eaten. These are in short supply, but not so rare that they could never be found.

All of the convenience stores are now dormant and Pyramid Head is nowhere to be seen. They all look like abandoned and boarded up ruins, without even the lights or movement that could sometimes be glimpsed inside. They are currently now impervious to any attempts to get inside, on a complete lockdown following the major disasters of the last few weeks.

Cell phones will now be working normally, as the disruptions have been dealt with in a very explosive manner. Cell phones and all items that characters may have had taken from them during the events will be waiting for them in their respective housing block rooms.

All of the information pages have been updated to include all of this new information; however, it's possible that I may have overlooked something. So if you see any information that's wrong, please let me know so I can edit ASAP. And if you have any final questions or comments, or you have any two year anniversary wishes to pass on, then please feel free to comment on this post.

Once again, thank you!

Hello Blue! For those characters who were on hiatus, what happens? I hiatus'd Dante before the prison breakout and I was just wondering how and where they will return.

Quick question! Do the new death restrictions apply to Yao employees as well?

Blue can you guess what I'm about to ask

can you

... So are the gems Team Fuckup stole from the store technological in nature at all (i.e. what would happen if Fujimaru did his thing...) or is the whole spiritual pain thing the only effect?
afflictive: (◦ smile ▻ let's start this)

I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but what's the status of the subway tunnels, in particular the monsters that were previously so spiral deformed as to be weakened and half-dead?
