All right! So here is another plotting post to the little pile - awh yeah. A plotting post (if you'd like!) that involves cordyceps infecting the game. When Tess was kidnapped and taken to Kite she was placed with Alcor; Kite took a sample of her blood and passed it on into Alcor's body. The results were immediate: he began transforming into an Infected and he's going to be let loose to wreak some brain fungus-y fun and turn people into screaming mushroom headed monsters.

For anyone who's canon blind to The Last of Us and what an Infected might be or how it should act, how it looks, here's a few links (video/images/info):

The purpose behind this post is mostly for anyone interested in being bitten by Alcor or by Tess and infected with the Cordyceps virus. It's said that, in canon, the mutation can begin to alter the person infected within hours of being bitten up to years but it's possible that Kite messed with something in the genetics, Alcor transformed almost immediately. Alcor's also going to end up biting Tess and she'll be fully transforming as well. ;)

So in a sense it could be possible for someone who's bitten to go straight into Stage 2 (Runner) or Stage 3 (Clicker ~~aka stuff of nightmares~~) within a matter of minutes when it should really take up to a year of being infected to reach Stage 3. Hell - it might even be possible to instantly mutate into a Bloater, that's entirely up to you!

Any characters from TLOU world will undoubtedly shoot on sight, just a heads up.

Headshots and fire are the best ways to take any and most Infected out, if anyone not infected through the plot gets that bit of information out to the public. There's the potential for both death and character torture in this. If anyone's got any questions I'll be more than happy to answer them. And if you're interested in having your character bitten, Tess and Alcor both will be fully infected and running around, feel free to let us know here and we'll work something out for the IC Mingle Log that's already up.

Anyone turned into an Infected - the cordyceps infection will last 24 hours or until they are killed. If they're not killed then the Infected they will just end up reverting back to their normal selves after 24 hours. Any scarring and/or trauma is up to the player discretion.
