Sorry about the huge edit, guys! I wanted to fix up this post and I suppose I put this up a little preemptively, so once again, I apologize.

So, here's the deal: Haruhi Suzumiya has plans on having a brigade meeting; even though she has ICly stated that the meeting would be former Mayfieldians only, she doesn't want them to be the only ones in on this meeting, especially since she knows a bunch of people that aren't from Mayfield!

Which is why Haruhi will be holding a meeting for all of Haven sometime within the next two weeks (depending on whether or not we have an event), so how about it, everyone?

I'm saying this as one of the imports from Mayfield.

I don't think a plotting community is a good idea personally, I feel like joining a new game should be much more about merging with the new game than sort of segregating ourselves into a group away from it.

That's not to say Mayfielders shouldn't keep in touch, IC or OOC, but this feels very inclusive and cliquish.

I, personally think that you're right; on the whole 'merging with the new game' part, anyway, especially since I really don't have a lot of CR with many of the other Mayfield imports. I didn't mean to make this post sound that way, and I deeply apologize for that!

But I just wanted to say that ICly, Haruhi's been planning on getting a group together; it didn't necessarily have to be inclusive for the Mayfield gang, since Haruhi was not initially planning on doing that, but she wanted a way to be able to keep in touch with people who were in Mayfield previously.

... I hope this makes sense, and I'm really sorry about that!

It was more the OOC plotting community that sounded cliquish. It makes IC sense that people who were in a previous game together might want to keep in touch, so I don't think Haruhi getting a group together is a big deal. But perhaps our own plotting community is a step too far and could easily alienate people.

Maybe make a plurk clique instead? Or send PMs if you want to plot with the Mayfield crew?

I'd make a plurk clique, but unfortunately, I don't have the plurks of everyone on board, and I always feel weird when I attempt to add someone that I haven't spoken to ICly or OOCly yet. And as for PMs, I tend to freak out way too much when I get a PM back due to my awkwardness.

Hmm, I'll start off by apologizing in advance if I word myself poorly and/or appear to be the naysayer, but apart from possibly keeping contact (would that be on an OOC level or IC level, by the way?), what other purpose would a comm like that serve? I realize there is a number of us in Haven, but on an IC level at least, I don't think any of the characters ever came to know every single last one of each other super well, and by extension, have that much reason to specifically seek each other out just because they've all been in Mayfield before. Those who had solid CR thanks to the previous setting are already keeping touch in Haven, and given that Mayfield's been done with, I don't think the characters, at least on an IC level, would have much reason to get together to dwell specifically on the aftermath? Additionally, some players ported their characters pre-clone reveal of Zemekis' part, and whether or not having complete control over building new Mayfield may be a good thing for them to learn, the clone bit might be a bullet some may have wanted to dodge/explicitly had in mind to avoid by picking a timeline prior instead of endgame. Mixing characters ported from different times from Mayfield may create a lot of friction and IC drama some players may prefer to avoid. I don't want to put words in people's mouths (though others are more than welcome to put in their 2 cents to correct me?), but those are some concerns I have on why pooling characters together just because they're from Mayfield may not be the best idea.

TL;DR: Two characters with Mayfield history that didn't previously had significant CR might talk and draw a few parallels from Mayfield to Haven due to game port experience (which can apply to any two characters apped with previous game history from any other game that paid any attention ICly to jamjar mechanics, such as apps/drops/canon updates), but personally, I don't see why they would all explicitly go out of their way to get together based on that fact alone? It's a bit of an unnecessary divide in my opinion, in short. Haven's where everyone is at now, so Haven should be the focus of all characters, having been CR ported or not. I realize my take might be short-sighted due to personal experience/bias, but if there's a bigger incentive/reason, I'd be happy to hear it?

Hopefully that made sense, and again, my intent isn't to burst bubbles. It's just some issues I see with this, so any clarifications would be helpful.

EDIT: ...And welp while I was busy mulling over my wording, someone pretty much said part of what I wanted to say with much less words, haha ;; Though personally, I'm not sure about how that would work both OOCly and ICly, I guess! But um yes. Sorry for sound repetitive, orz

Okay, I just edited the post to reflect on both this and the previous anon's comment, so the problems we may or may not have had for this may have be fixed. I just want to apologize for posting this preemptively without thinking things through several times, and I'd really like to make amends?

Hopefully the new edits on this post may sound better than the previous post, so I hope my answer is alright.

It's all good, no problem! If anything, I'm glad you gave us an OOC heads-up so you could get some second opinion, instead of possibly just rolling with the idea on your own, so thank you for that!

And yeah, her rebuilding the brigade here makes more sense IMO, and she could use her personal Mayfield/previous game experiences to shed some insight on what Haven might have in store for other characters. I might have missed the post where she called out all other Mayfield ports and I apologize for that, but again, I don't see that sort of rollcall being super practical... o\

But yes, it looks a lot more reasonable now. Again, thank you for taking in consideration of the concerns mentioned!

Oh, no worries; she hasn't actually called out any of the other Mayfieldians ICly just yet. I was planning on doing that on a future post, but now that I've taken the comments into consideration, I've decided to change my plans and go with the new one where we just have a general brigade meeting.
