Event!
Hello Havenites!
The anger from the school foundations has been growing for the past two days, as well as the strange compulsion that draws the characters nearer to come and investigate. It seems that today the anger has reached a boiling point and it has to escape somehow, and unfortunately, only the characters are around to be in the firing line.
There are now several options for you to choose from, some of which depends on the type of character you play.
OPTION ONE: EMOTIONAL POSSESSION
Any character who chooses to go down this route will become overwhelmed with certain feelings or emotions at various points over the next few days. You as a player may decide how frequently and how long to have these emotional outbursts last for, but while they are happening, they are impossible to resist. They will not be constant for the whole time, so please be aware of this if you choose this option. Your character will still behave like themselves, they are not possessed by other people, just their emotions. They will also remember behaving this way when the emotion has passed.
-> Despair. The characters may feel a crushing despair that makes them feel as though the world is hopeless, they are trapped, and there is nothing left to do except lay down and die.
-> Anger. The characters may feel a righteous anger at a terrible miscarriage of justice done towards them. They will feel as though they have been victimized by everyone around them.
-> Desperation. The characters may feel as though everything is spiralling out of control and they are desperate to find a way out in order to survive, even if it seems impossible.
-> Survival instinct. The characters may feel as though they are trapped and that the only way to survive is to do whatever is necessary, including cannibalization and chewing off their own limbs to escape.
-> Claustrophobia. The characters may feel as though anywhere they are is too confined and is running rapidly out of oxygen. They may feel light headed and short of breath, and willing to fight to get free.
OPTION TWO: REGRETS (14 YEARS OLD AND OVER ONLY)
Options two and three depend on how old your character is in Haven - this means their actual age, not their physical age. So a vampire who is 300 but looks 12, would still count as an over 14 in this instance.
-> If your character is 14 years old or over, they will see an apparition of themselves as a younger child. This apparition will follow them and constantly berate the life choices they have made, or remind them of mistakes they have allowed to happen, or regrets that they have. They will be angry and disappointed in their future selves for not becoming all they wanted to be.
These apparitions are visible to all other characters as well, and they cannot be exorcised as they are not ghosts in the strictest sense. They may come and go throughout the days, and not be there permanently. They will not be tangible, and characters can walk right through them if they want.
OPTION THREE: PERSONAL POSSESSION (13 YEARS OLD AND UNDER ONLY)
Similar to option two, this depends on how old your character is in Haven - this means their actual age, not their physical age. So a clone, who looks sixteen, but has only been around for four years, would count as under 13 in this instance.
-> If your character is 13 years old or under, their souls will vacate their bodies to leave them a hollow shell, as though tugged out by something stronger. In their place, their bodies will be possessed by themselves as they are/will be as an adult. This includes their adult views, emotions, memories, and powers (if applicable). If you do not know what your character will canonically be like as an adult, any distance over six months into the future will suffice. If you are unaware of any point of your character's future, please do not choose this option as the results must be based primarily on canon and not headcanon.
Unlike options one and two, this will not come and go over the next few days, this will be a permanent possession until the end of the event.
Please note: None of these options are mandatory. You may choose to have your character unaffected by any of them. However, it is mandatory to feel the pulses of anger from the school and to be drawn close. An IC mingle for this portion of the event can be found here, or you may feel free to make your own posts or logs regarding how/if this has affected your character as of now, if you wish.
If you have any questions or concerns, please ask here! If you would like, this post may also be used as a plotting post.

For #2, can the apparitions take on different forms representing different stages of the character's canon youth? Like covered in blood/looks beaten one moment, but normal the next. Secondly, if a character has been possessed when they were younger, can the possessed personality manifest to hound the character too?

2. No, it would only be their actual self, not the previous possession.

Considering that the child apparition is supposed to be angry and disappointed in their future selves for not being what they want to be, what does this mean for say, characters who were more or less hopeless as children who only started to develop hopes and aspirations when they were already past childhood? Does that mean they'd just berate the future self's choices instead?

QUESTIONS
I am thinking of going with Option 3 for Kon! I love that you already anticipated what my first question would have been (♥) so straight into the details.
I have two options with Kon as older. There is grown-up Kon that the Teen Titans encountered when they went into the future and met their incredibly messed up selves (Kon was Superman, and he was totally cool with killing people). It was implied that this was the Titans future unless they took steps to stop it -- which they did, the arc ending with the future world dissolving. Pros: Kon is actually an adult, if a gi-normous douche. Cons: This future is highly unlikely to actually happen, I would have to go back and read that arc again.
2. End of Superboy series Kon. This is only a few years after Kon's current canon point, but it encompasses Kon's time as a Titan, his death, his not being as dead as thought. I think he's grown a lot -- he is much more secure in himself and his choices and much less reactionary. Pros: I never mind re-reading Superboy. Cons: He is still a huge dork and it's only two years.
Would both these incarnations be acceptable? I'm just double-checking before I pick one -- I don't want to play out both, I would die.

Because with Ellen, her younger self is best friends with Herve, who is (basically) young Keats. And he is a large part of her regrets. So I was wondering if she would be aware of his presence or not.

2) for option three, is there a minimum to how far into the future you can take the new soul? for example, echo is taken from ch78 but i was wondering if she could be possessed by noise from ch89...

2. Ideally from at least a year or so into the future.

POTENTIAL FIGHT OR FLIGHT?
I'm intending to go option one with Laura and when she's really angry or scared, but she's not someone who would just be angry, she would lash out to try and get rid of the threats she feels are around her.
This could lead to her attempting to harm or kill someone else which she would feel really guilty about and want to make it up to them later. So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a confrontation? If the person wouldn't be harmed, that's fine, they could just find a way to restrain her until she calms down and the emotion passes. If you want an all out fight, that could be fun, too.

But actually yeah now that you mention it, he prefers to avoid confrontations when possible and would largely be on the defense. Unless some craaazy opportunity presents itself.

Nanoha is the type to use force if talking isn't working. She's also a bit uber in her canon, but she'll tone it down to save the buildings.

But a'ight that works for me! If things get too intense he'll probably just....run away because he's still kind of traumatized by his last death THANKS NO THANKS HAVEN. Did you have a top level comment for her
that I missedor are you setting up a log somewhere or how are we doing this? Also do we need more details, I am happy to hash them out.no subject
AND THAT IS TOTALLY OKAY. I will be putting up a top comment but I wanted to make it a two parter if I got interest from people.
