Event: Both Groups!
Hello Havenites!
Yes, the day has finally come, everyone is about to be reunited. And that means things are really going to kick off during this week - more so in the second of the event climax posts, which will go up on Thursday 25th, 7pm EST. This post contains a lot of important information, so please make sure to read it through thoroughly.
As you can see from this IC post, the barrier hemming all of the characters in who escaped from the prison has now been destroyed, meaning everyone is now free to roam the nuclear wasteland that group one have been traversing for a few days now. At the end of the line is an invisible barrier, but this one has control stations which can be destroyed. There are no soldiers and no resistance to doing so, so what could go wrong? The only way to rescue the others is to destroy it.
Unfortunately, now is not the time for happy reunions, as the destruction of the barrier seems to have set off a chain reaction within the jail itself, causing both an explosion and an angry stream of soldiers and other... monstrosities. These can be controlled and NPCd by the players however you like, so please feel free to have them attacking or being attacked as you wish.
Some things to note:
-> The jail is completely demolished and attempting to go back will result in being in a fiery ruin. If your character was still within the jail when it exploded, they will be injured with burns and possible broken bones, and now is a good time to run to the others. The ground beneath it has cracked and it seems to be there where the monsters are coming from, the cracked ground looks like it used to have a painted spiral over it.
-> The monsters and soldiers will all be attempting to herd the characters back towards Haven West.
-> A convenience store lays incongruously a day outside of Haven West (between Haven West and the jail), hidden amongst the ruins of a village. It looks identical to the one in Haven West. It remains boarded up for now, but the scraping of a weapon can be heard inside the door suggesting that Pyramid Head is inside.
There are literally thousands of soldiers (close to two thousand), and several hundred monstrosities on the attack. Some of the monstrosities may still have some small human features - such as a human face, or a human hand - but will not have any human personality remaining. The only sounds they can make are moans of pain and terror, and they will kill as if it is their only purpose in life. The monstrosities can take one of a few forms:
-> Giant snails, easily the size of a family estate car. They can move quickly for snails.
-> Human beings twisted into bizarre and grotesque deformations.
-> Centipedes and millipedes up to three metres in length.
The land itself seems to be suffering from the break at the jail, which has obviously severely damaged Kite's Uzumaki machines. The wind often picks up into eddies and currants that whip the dust into spiral tornadoes of varying strength and size. The ground shakes and splits with fierce earthquakes that come at least three times a day. A giant circling ash cloud rises from the flames of the jail and spirals above the whole land, blotting out the sun to make daylight hours a perpetual twilight and the darkness total when the sun goes down.
The IC mingle post itself is split into sections as per the previous event posts, due to a lot of things happening. These sections happen over a three day period, so please don't worry about needing to do everything right away or being too late to be involved. The final event climax, along with a store raid, will take place in the final event post on Thursday. Further information about the raid will be posted by the players organizing it before Thursday, so please keep an eye out for that.
If you have any questions, please ask them on the event navigation post as usual, and feel free to use this post for a plotting post if you like. Thank you!
