Hello Havenites!
As a reminder, our head mod Blue is still not present due to RL circumstances. Plot specific threads/questions/concerns, as well as NPC interaction, are still put on hold for the time being. Any requests or questions regarding such matters can be submitted to the mod account via PM and will be answered when she returns. We thank you for your continued patience regarding this. In addition the February Mod Post will not be going up until later in the month, so please continue to use January's until further notice. Lastly, the Warned List is up so if you haven't submitted your AC please do so in 24 hours (so tomorrow at 7pm EST) or you will be ejected.
That said, it's event time! Due to Blue's absence, whatever she may have planned for this month will be unfortunately delayed. However she did leave some event ideas behind and so we will be using one of those ideas for this month's event.
As we all know, people are built to have protective inhibitions for whatever reason. Someone who is angry knows how to repress that anger for the sake of social situations, like scowling or not getting worked up over small matters. A very friendly person knows that the world isn't always simple and you can't always be happy. People have fears that may hold them back or might be protecting them from something. People don't go around doing whatever they please because it disrupts order. The point is, people don't just throw caution to the wind and feel the way they want to all the time.
That is going to change between February 6th and February 13th, because characters are going to start acting less on thought and more on base instincts. Inhibitions will be gone and characters are going to find that the things they feared are no longer feared. The things they kept beneath the surface or the traits that define them most will be dialed up and there won't be any desire to hold back. A happy person like Tommy might behave extra chipper, like they have zero cares in the world and everything is awesome all the time even when you're in Haven! Or an angry person like Lana may be likely to explode in rage, even over the smallest things, because who can tell her she can't be mad as hell that you accidentally bumped into her?
Alternatively certain traits may take a turn for the worse. An altruistic person might now behave like their altruism is something that needs to be earned, or a person who experiences mild envy might now believe they are entitled to anything they want from others. People with a fear of the dark may lose that fear and want to run around blindly through the tunnels. If you got someone you want to kiss, you're gonna do it because who even cares? Anything someone held back, anything feared, and any behavior not considered proper will no longer register in their mind. There's no holding back for the sake of that precious order and conduct.
The idea is to basically take a defined personality trait/aspect of your character, spike it up to 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 and let loose with it. If you're having difficulty deciding on what you might want to do, a good idea may be to refer to the seven deadly sins and their opposing virtues as a guideline. We encourage you to be creative about the psychological and emotional changes that can affect your characters, so long as they are existing traits that are being dialed up and not something out of completely nowhere. They can occur right away when the event begins or later on in the week. They can even gradually change over time if you so wish, but all changes will feel natural to the characters and not caused by an experiment (though characters are free to suspect as much as time goes on.)
A mingle log is up here for anyone who wants to make toplevels, but please note this will be the only mingle for the event and people are encouraged to post on the network and log comms for added fun. This event may or may not tie into the larger going-ons in Haven, as it is not specifically run by Blue, and as usual the event is opt-out if you don't want anything happening to your character.

Will characters be aware of the fact that they're acting strangely? Not in a "oh no this must be Yao" sort of way, but more in a "man, I don't know what's wrong with me but I feel like I'm being bitchier today than I usually am" sort of way, maybe?
Also, is there any sort of sliding scale of uninhibited-ness, or is everyone's lack of inhibitions cranked to 11? Can there be any characters that are less severely affected and therefore able to react to other characters' odd behaviour in a more worried / straight-laced / serious / what-have-you manner?

You're free to have a sliding scale of inhibition-loss if you choose, so long as you keep in mind the general idea of the event.

We apologize if you feel like we have left you in the dark. We've done our best to be transparent about the situation without giving away personal information, as we want to leave the choice of disclosure up to her when she returns.

The aspect of his personality that will be exaggerated is his merchant side, and while usually his compassion results in him backing off or him realizing that what he's doing isn't a good idea, he'll be using all of his CR and new characters ruthlessly for his own benefit.
Sakamoto's goal has always been to escape, but to do that he believes that he needs to find more stuff out about Yao, to throw more wrenches in their plot. This is super difficult which is why he's strayed away from it, but he's probably going to seriously start trying to get Haven to have a currency! To give the people "power" and to actually set up a monetary system (which will probably go totally haywire).

For the first three days, Axl will be feeling extremely prideful about his abilities as a fighter and status as an S-Class Hunter. That'll lead him to challenge just about anyone to a spar. He will even pull out his somewhat OP White Armor if the opponent is particularly skillful.
For the fourth and fifth days, Axl will be feeling mischievous and set pranks all around Haven West! Most of them will utilize renewable resources like water or open cans/junk/unwanted stuff, but he may occasionally use a precious resource like actual food and the like.
On the sixth and seventh days, he'll feel a strong, raging hatred to all things Yao related. He'll be making a video post asking about known Yao employees, and then try to chase them down to murder them. Oops.

♦ As a HUNTER, this means he will be itching to fight, even unable to sit still for long. And just to note: he's trained and skilled in many areas (hand to hand, plus he has a number of blades on him), and has several inhuman strengths like his speed, physical strength, and regeneration.
♦ As a VAMPIRE, his inhibitions will definitely be lowered. Basically, this means that he will be far more inclined (and open to the idea of) to bite others/drink from them, and act on the very raw desire for blood. — If anyone wants to offer their character up, do comment! Also, NOTE: He will not be looking to kill, and for the record, isn't capable of turning people into vampires.

- he can/will be incredibly cruel
- he can transform his body, which can include things like blades made from his bones

Jotaro + Alvin plottings
Being a fan from childhood, Jotaro will basically be Columbo for this event. This means he's will be overly observant of minor (and major) details your character exhibits. This can be a verbal tic, body language, maybe even a visible scar on their person - anything someone might notice about someone else, but usually wouldn't ask about because ayyy tact. Your character is definitely free to dismiss Jotaro's probing, but just a note he'll be really stubborn in trying to find out, and he will follow you everywhere if he has to, to get some semblance of answer. Please tell him all your secrets, he won't be able to get any sleep for this entire week otherwise....
Okay no, not really (but maybe really...), feel free to plot with me in regards to what Jotaro may notice about your character!! And whether he totally gets shut down or not, I can definitely work with this either way since there are definitely some things a complete stranger shouldn't have any right to demand an answer to...
Alvin (
ALvin on the other hand can be a rather touchy-feely, clingy person. Purely platonic, but it was his way to enforcing friendships when in reality he has zero idea how to make genuine friends. For this event, Alvin is going to be super clingy to the people he does consider his friends, and for those he doesn't yet know, he'll be doubling his efforts in reaching out to people to the point that it gets ridiculously embarrassing. HEY DO YOU NEED A THING DONE? LET ME DO IT. I'LL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY TO SEE THAT IT GETS DONE. YOU WANT SOME FOOD? I GOT SOME OF THAT TOO TAKE ALL OF IT...
Closer to the end of the event, it'll progress to something resembling a fear of people coming to hate him if they discover how huge of a shit he's been in the past.

But Miranda always had issues with knowing her own limits when she's trying to help people and I want to push that up a notch. Is anyone interested in having items repairs for them by Miranda using Time Record?
The stipulation is that her powers work by rewinding time to when the item (or person) was in peak condition. It remains that way as long as she's using Time Record but will revert to it's natural state once she turns it off.
She'll just avoid doing that by not sleeping until she collapses around the end of the week, and then all the items will go back to being broken.
