Hello, Haven! New person with a new character. My name is Trap and I'll be playing Damian Wayne here from DC Comics. He's about as nice as you'd expect Bruce and Talia's kid to be (which is to say, not very nice at all), but he's secretly a good kid. Somewhere deep, deep, deep down. No, deeper. There. Yes, that's it. He's also Robin sometimes. He's basically an adorable little ninja brat that talks a lot of crap and I'm sorry in advance. :| He's not very easy to warm up to!

Anyway! I can be reached at flowing runes on AIM or Plurk for pretty much anything. (I don't plurk very much but I get pings and all that, so it's all good.) PMs are fine, too. I'm looking forward to playing here! ♥

I'm not hugely a fan of Paul Dini or the direction he (and his neckbeard) too the character or her nonsensical integration into Gotham. I'm not against Gotham or anything, it just... makes no sense to her fifty years of history. But I digress, there are other times for my Dini hate-on. :')

Likewise! Damian was around before then, but she obviously hasn't been made aware of the whole situation of Hush yet because of her timeline. She is, however, aware that Bruce is "dead." MIGHT BE NICE TO HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS FROM THE FUTURE!!

rofl oh man, I remember being so confused by that. Like, even before I knew much about her, it just seemed really... out of place?! It was weird. BUT good news is definitely something he can do, at least if Dick doesn't beat him to it, haha.

Yeah, before that her only extensive interaction with Bruce was basically... DCAU. Written by Paul Dini. With her having ~feels~ for him. Essentially, Bruce is acting as a self-insert for Dini and he likes to twist her in any way he pleases because, well. He really is a neckbeard. He married a magician half his age and there has been some interesting commentary from Bruce Timm and others on his obsession. BASICALLY, HE MAKES ME REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE IS WHAT I'M GETTING AT? Which sucks, because I think no one writes Gotham Rogues like him and he usually will give Bruce a very human, very real voice. :(

SOMEONE BEST GET ON IT. She needs to know he was a pirate at some point :( :( :(

Oh wow, that is incredibly creepy, haha. I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR FEELING THAT WAY AT ALL. It's a really weird thing to hear about writers that act like they're kind of just writing fanfiction or something. Especially when they're not all around bad writers! Jeez.

SHATTERING THE PERCEPTION OF BELOVED COMIC FIGURES ONE STEP AT A TIME!! Yeah, he just. Rubs me in ways I'm not okay with regarding Zatanna, at least. BUT I LIKE PEOPLE TO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE STEPPING INTO WHEN THEY MENTION HIM AROUND ME. But this is comics, it's okay to self-insert and be a creep! Especially at DC, amirite!

Ah, it's such a pity things didn't go more smoothly after that. I was really hoping they'd transition him into being a more mature adult, finally starting to move on from his stoic bullshit. But they basically just went back to same old same old and then... reboot. :(

Haha, it's okay! We've all got our Thing. And when you put it like that, it almost makes me wonder if that's why they let stuff like this slide. "WE ALL DO IT AT LEAST ONCE, SO WHAT THE HEY." It's the only thing that makes sense!!

It really feels like one of those things that people can't make their minds up about! Like, there will be times where it feels like he's really improved, and others where it seems like they just forgot about it all together. I think I tend to be more surprised when development for characters like that actually sticks, haha.
