Event Info and first IC mingle intro
It's almost time for the December event, Havenites!
This event will be the first one with much less direct mod participation. There are a couple of reasons this event stretches for such a long time; the first of which is that there are a few stages and I want every player to have time to react and play, the second of which is that I know it's exam season/busy job season for a lot of players and I wanted it to be less stressful.
This event is split into three sections:
Section One : Awakening (Monday - Thursday)
Remember that fog that rolled in before the characters woke up in the hospital? It's back. It rolls in on Monday night and puts every character to sleep. When they wake up, they're in Haven North. Haven North is exactly as Haven West would be, if it weren't destroyed. So the town is in good condition, there are working plumbing systems and electricity, and plenty of food to be found.
They begin the week happily. Characters regaining items will find them in the shops that are now in good condition, free for the taking along with food, drink, etc. There's a fun-fair, sports stadiums, and even a library (yes, a library). All characters will have dreams (or vivid day-dreams if they are not a character who usually sleeps), of loved ones and happy memories.
Section Two: Nightmares (Thursday - Sunday)
Starting on Thursday, things begin to take a turn for the worse. Small things at first, such as noticing a slight crumbling on the buildings, or the meat found at the store being rotten. These will build over the next few days to more severe things, like the water running brown and dirty, or a whole roof collapsing.
In addition to that, the dreams will begin to turn to nightmares. It may begin small, such as a happy memory being twisted slightly to have a tragic ending. These nightmares will be focused on blame and guilt - perhaps loved ones begin to denounce the characters, or terrible memories resurface and refuse to be silenced. You can decide what your characters see, but it should be aimed at making them feel guilty and distressed. Again, these should build over the four days, starting small and growing in severity.
Section Three: Ending (Sunday - Wednesday)
In this final stage of the event, things really go downhill fast. The buildings begin to fall apart, lamp-posts crash to the ground, electrical appliances malfunction and the food and water are unsafe and scarce. If you want to have your character injured or killed by any such incidents, please feel free. Though try to make it believable (like the roof falling on them), and not entirely unbelievable (like a rogue waffle iron gaining sentience and burning their face off).
The nightmares have now become a waking terror as well. Hallucinations begin small - perhaps a familiar face glimpsed out of the corner of the eye - and eventually become solid. Depending what type of character they are, they may hear and see things designed to push them to murder or self-destructive behaviours. You can use your own discretion for this, but please cut and warn for potentially triggering situations.
Event Schedule
An IC mingle post will be made at 7PM EST on Monday 10th, which will describe the setting of Haven North and what can be found in greater detail. Otherwise an OOC post will be made as a reminder things can escalate on both Thursday 13th and Sunday 16th at 7PM EST.
IC Mingle Log
Not event related, but please be aware the first IC mingle log to introduce new characters is now up!
As always, any questions or comments are welcome on this post. Additionally, feel free to use this post for plotting!

but makes sense yeah in which case she'll probably have to hunt him down, welp. AND WHAT ABOUT CAIN NOW GEEZ... she sure would try to keep it together, but as recent happenings are proving, her overall psyche's gotten more fragile these days. Scars may stay after event ends, not sure how things are getting wrapped up during the final stages, /chinhands. I'm kind of on the boat of "won't do anything overboard/unnecessary if it doesn't lead anywhere" on this one though, so if everyone just needs some downtime after... hmm let's just try to mop up whatever we end up with on our plate?

haha, cain is probably the one person he'd try to stick with if things were going haywire because bro...... unless he was seriously losing it and afraid he'd really snap, but I don't plan to let things get that far as it stands now. since the city would be rather dangerous as things progressed, I'm thinking he'd try to help long as he could (get people somewhere safe etc) until he was too distracted.
it's really early in things so we'll have plenty of time for Abel to figure out her auto-regen is gone, yeah? I would rather do it when like, 9,000 other things aren't happening so they can discuss it properly and such personally. throwing it in there for the sake of it will just cheapen the whole thing imo.

Point! And. dsfjhgk I'm sorry if. I'm kind of throwing around all sorts of stuff. I tend to get too many random ideas at once and occasionally get carried away, okay.............. u__u;; that said she. Might or might not keep an eye from afar even if he ambles off on his own, if that's feasible? Her usual quietly-stalking-from-skyscraper-2-blocks-down sorta deal (whenever stuff aren't falling left right center but small time there). Iiiii admit part of the reason why I'm sort of hesitant at this point is because BOY THINGS SURE WENT PRETTY SOUTH even if it's backtagland, w-welp. Which depending on how that ends, may or may not drive home the idea that she can only watch and support from the shadows/afar, because what's doing things in the open under the metaphorical sunlight? /)__u I. Apologize for that too okay because what even happened there But again that's a massive ??? because ONGOING and who knows how things'll really end, so.
...
tldr: I'll mosey back later if anything significant happens? ;; I'M SORRY FOR RAMBLING SO MUCH... orz

best coping mechanisms.
YOU KNOW we can just finish up that thread and decide where we want to go from there? ideally i'd like it if we could figure out some way to get these losers out of their slump... maybe we could use the event to our advantage in that category!! we'll see how it goes, though, because you and I are already aware that things... just sort of
happen...........
