Hello again, Haven!

I'm going to be doing a small-ish plot with Charles here that people are completely welcome to join in on. As people might remember, there were two sets of examples made after Kite's network post in January: here & here! Both of these involved arranging the victims in a spiral, which Charles noticed when he viewed these events through Lightning's memory. He's convinced that looking for the spiral's meaning might give some insight to the people who brought everyone to Haven.


I talked to Blue, and it seems several things will happen when dealing with the spirals, which can be found all over Haven if people look for them. Once characters start looking for the spirals and examining them, they'll slowly grow more and more obsessed with seeing spirals everywhere (eg. in fingerprints, in the whorl of the inner ear). They'll also start arranging the things around them (like their furniture & their meals) in spiral patterns. When the obsession reaches its peak, the characters will turn their own bodies into a spiral by breaking their own bones, resulting in their deaths. This entire process takes about two months.

Here's where you guys come in!

Charles would very likely try to find people to help him decipher the spiral's meaning, so if you'd like your characters to become affected, just leave a comment for me here, or PM this account. Another important note: the obsession can be stopped before the characters die. If other, uninvolved characters intervene and keep the affected ones from seeing/creating spirals, the obsession will fade and their behaviour will return to normal.

I think my only question would be where the spirals can initially be found before the obsession kicks in? On walls, faded logos on things, carved into furniture?

Initially it would be in random things. Such as seeing a pile of pebbles somehow arranged in a spiral, or the dust forming a pattern. There are a few spirals carved on the bookshelves in Haven North, as well as near the town hall in The Haven. Mostly it would be randomized things, which would only start occurring once the character began actively looking for potential answers in spirals.

After speaking with Charles' player and the mods, I'm going to present something for people who want their characters to get involved, but possibly have an out so they don't die.

Yukki's power is the Random Diary, which, in Haven, lets him see video clips of the future (rather than the text it would normally display). This means that if, in the future, he were going to see someone who was dead via spiralization, he can act and inform people that they're going to die, or otherwise intervene...

... if he has a good reason, like he likes them or something; Yukki's friendly enough but mostly wants to be left alone with Yuno. But if you want an out, leave a comment here or contact me at midboss and we can definitely work something out!

Hnnngh very tempting. I LOVE Uzumaki so it would be awesome to get involved with this, but seeing as Izaya has THINGS going on rn I might have to give it some thought - at least until I know what he's doing - and then get back to you.

I actually mentioned it in my comment to the mod post, but I probably should have edited it in here, too.

Basically, the spiral plot can start for your character at any time within the next week or so. If you'd like your character to be affected during the event, just assume that Charles has already spoken to them about it the day before. If you want to figure out the details of that, just let me know!

oh gosh. This sounds like a fantastic plot and i want in if we can swing it! I've actually wanted to play around with Dean slowly becoming more and more paranoid thanks to spending so much time up in Haven North and this will be a great excuse to start delving into that.

The plot can start whenever you'd like in the next week or so! If you want your character to be affected during the event, just assume that Charles spoke to them the day before. If not, assume that Charles will speak to them after the event.
