and now our regularly scheduled player-plot event!

Hello again, Haven players! This is still frog, Cecil's player, and as promised, the BLOW UP HAVEN player-plot is today! I discourage you from actually blowing up anything in your homes to celebrate, but I thank you for the proffered enthusiasm.

As you can see in his network post, Cecil's going to be talking through the whole event, because that's a thing he does. Feel free to use his blabbing as an excuse to get your characters involved.

The first two sections are CLOSED to whoever signed up on this previous ooc post, to keep down the number of people posting to those threads and keep the timeline of the event from dissolving into complete chaos. Also to keep track of who has been a very bad, bad Havenite in need of punishing by our beloved and terrifying corporation. (Just kidding. ......or am I?) The last section, the exploring of the new area, is OPEN to everyone. So have fun there, even if you didn't sign up!

Here's a better description of the new area, from Blue:

Congratulations, you’ve blown up some of the tunnel!

This has a couple of effects before I get to the description of the area beyond.
1. Another invisible barrier, much like the one near the underground garden, must be pushed through in order to enter or exit. In the same vein as the previous one, characters who have been in Haven longer will find it trickier to do so.
2. Phones will not work through the invisible barrier at all.

Once the end of the tunnel is exploded and the short distance of rubble/invisible barrier passed through, the characters will find themselves in a long warehouse type room. Along one wall are plexiglass cells of a size just large enough for a grown woman to stand straight, with a bed, a toilet, and a food dispenser. There are twelve cells and in each one is a woman that is virtually identical to Beth Yao. None of these women are capable of speech or communication, however they are all alive. If people want to, they can be guided to walk and will follow basic instructions. They can be brought back to Haven West if wanted, but will die within 72 hours of leaving the underground room.

On the opposite wall are cooler drawers of the sort used to store or transport organs with a limited ‘shelf life’. These are labelled with various important organs such as liver, lungs, heart, etc. Anyone looking inside will find they do house the organs listed, and anyone capable of doing some kind of creepy DNA test will find out they all match the women in the cells.

A large sheet of paper is pinned near a door at the far end of the room. The writing is English and lists dates and locations for procedures to take place. Five have already happened in the past, the final two are happening on December 28th and March 12th in Haven Central Municipal Hospital.

When the characters enter, an alarm goes off and the door at the far end slams shut with reinforced locks, it cannot be broken through. But this place has the feel of somewhere definitely still being used, and was unprepared for a break in.

If you have any questions about the new area, Blue will be around today under this header to answer them. The rest of this post can be used to hash out any last minute or on-going ooc plotting.

Thank you for helping to make this work, guys. I hope everyone enjoys it!

Hmmm can the cooler drawers be removed from Haven West/still functional after being removed?

Not that John WANTS to steal organs, thank you, but an icebox/cooler or any means of keeping things cold could be very beneficial to the clinic. and he is so screwed for helping with this anyway.

There's not really the industrial electricity supply needed to power them in Haven West, but the drawers can certainly be taken if wanted.

Well, if it's insulated enough, someone with powers could always temporarily freeze it for half a day or something? Probably still good to take it and find a use for later.

Awesome! Thank you :3

Obligatory Superman question

Just curious: what would Clark see if he used x-ray vision on the locked door?

A corridor filled with people rushing about as if in a panic, the corridor will gradually empty and the lights will turn off leaving it abandoned.

re: phones

Do they not work as in communicating from one side of the barrier to the other, or just flat out not work once you pass through?

[personal profile] havenmods 2014-08-03 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
They flat out don't work once passed through.

A) What kind of emotions (if any) would Satou be able to pick up on in the warehouse?

B) Do the lovely ladies have souls/emotions that Satou might sense?

[personal profile] havenmods 2014-08-03 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
A. Industrious sort of feelings, like people working extremely hard.

B. No souls or emotions at all, they are literally just grown as organ donors.

I am so sorry if you are sick of this question by now but—

Is there any machinery/any kind of technology/anything that uses electricity in the area?

Re: QUESTIONS

[personal profile] havenmods 2014-08-04 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty much all the cells run on electricity that regulate the food dispensers, the doors, etc. The cooling storage for the organs also run on electricity.

Unfortunately all these things are Yao made, and Yao affiliated, so would just be super rude to him if he talked to them.

Are there computers in the room characters can access to find out the clones are of Beth Yao, or maybe any indication of them being clones of her?

Re: QUESTIONS

[personal profile] havenmods 2014-08-05 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
There are no computers in the room, but quite a few characters have seen Beth Yao in person and so the word could easily get around who they looked like/were clones of.

LATE QUESTION

Just double checking -- if someone with healing powers were to scan the clones, would they find that they're missing the organs in the drawers?

Phones:

Ok, so stick with me on this one, it's weird. Say a character stands on one side of the barrier and has another part of their body on what is potentially the other side of the barrier and tries to use the phone to send a message, will the phone work?
havenmods: (Default)

[personal profile] havenmods 2014-08-03 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
No, the phone will not work through the barrier at all.

Thanks. Just wanted to check since Pepper is weird enough to try something like that.
