Hello Havenites!

Before I get into the event details, there's a small mod related announcement that needs to be made. Unfortunately, the helper team has lost Ruki due to her leaving the game. She has our thanks for everything she did to help the game run smoothly, and she'll be missed. However, that means there is now an opening in the helper team, and so I am opening helper applications. If you are interested in finding out more of what the role consists of, or you wish to apply, then please see this page. Applications will close on Friday 14th November, 7pm EST, and the successful applicant will be notified soon afterwards.

Now to the event!

As you can see from this IC post, a massive storm has broken out over Haven. For this first section of the event, very little in the way of major consequences to the characters as individuals is happening. However, the main body of the event will kick off on Monday 10th, when there will be game-wide and more personal effects, among other things.

For this first section, these are the important things you need to know:

-> The storm will rage continuously. There will be lulls in the lightning and thunder, but the rain will continue as a total downpour without any breaks.
-> The weather machine will register an incorrect reading, it will show the weather as being the current programmed weather the characters have chosen and will not register the rain. This means it cannot be used to stop or lessen the downpour.
-> The well will overflow within 6 hours.
-> The water pipes to the houses will overflow within 12 hours, flooding the housing spiral and surrounding area.
-> Any lower ground will quickly become flooded.
-> Any character with weather or water related powers will be unable to stop the rain or lessen it, but they may be able to help divert the course of any flooding.

Anyone on the warned list has until 7PM EST on October 7th to post sufficient links, anyone appearing on the list for two consecutive months will receive a warning about activity. If someone has dropped via the OOC community and not the official drop post, they may be on this list and will be swept with the ejected list. It's that time of the month again, Havenites. That's right, Activity Check!

Activity can be either of the following:

One post or log AND a thread of five comments or more.
OR
Three threads totalling thirty comments or more.

As clarification, this means five comments by your character, or thirty comments by your character over three threads. These do not have to be spread equally, they can be distributed any way as long as the three threads have thirty comments from your character in total. Posts or logs must be posted by your character, or be a joint original post. Failure to comment to the AC post or provide sufficient AC will result in being removed from the game. You are free to re-apply for an ejected character; but to be fair to other applicants, you must wait a month before doing so.

For further clarification on activity requirements, please see this post. All players who had a full month hiatus, or who were accepted this month, have already been cleared on the list.

As no players were accepted during September, only relevant hiatuses will count for exemptions. A hiatus of two weeks will reduce the requirement by half to one post OR a up to two threads of fifteen or more comments - that is fifteen comments total, not per thread. Players on hiatus for the whole month are also exempt from activity check. Both characters on hiatus for the whole month, and characters accepted during the AC month, have already been cleared from the list and those players do not need to reply to this post.

Posts, logs and threads can be taken any time from September 1st - September 30th. You have until October 5th, 7pm EST to comment. A warned list will go up shortly after that. If you appear on the warned list, you have until October 7th, 7pm EST to reply with evidence of activity or hiatus. An ejected list will go up shortly after.

Players who are on hiatus during the period that AC must be submitted, but who are not exempt, may ask a fellow player to submit their AC for them, or the moderator will check the community tags to verify activity. Otherwise AC must be submitted by the player themselves.
