Hello everyone! I'm Riv and I'm bringing you guys Milla Maxwell from Tales of Xillia. This is my first time playing here so I hope to have fun with everyone! I'm bringing Milla from closer to the end of the game when she goes into the Temporal Crossroads with her superpals to fight the final boss. Milla is full of conviction, really loves food, and is kinda weird... sometimes... but she also really loves humans and the spirits from her world. So chances are, she'll be very interested in protecting a lot of people.

Hello Haven, this is Hotaru (player of Mu, Manji, Zed and Oguna) bringing in a child. He's about 11 years old, he's lived in a cave his entire life because his existing is supposed to be a secret, because he's actually supposed to have been killed as a baby because he was born as the younger sibling in a set of twins. Because twins are bad luck and there's wonky things with their souls and the younger one is a demon according to some legends, like the legends his village follows. He's still alive though, and that will cause him some trouble later on, like, the same day he's taken from. As it is now, though, he's taken from before he's been discovered by the villagers, so he knows nothing of that trouble.

So, his name is Fuuma Kotarou. Sort of. It's not his name yet, but it will be after above mentioned things happens. But as for now, he will be going by the name Hibiki, with him taking it from the meaning echo, for reasons. He comes from a manga-recently-turned-anime called Donten ni Warau, and he's from the Fuuma ninja clan. Sort of. This is also because he's supposed to be, you know, dead. He's still a capable fighter, thanks to training with his older twin brother, even if he still needs polishing.

Hello Haven, this is Delitan, a brand new player, bringing you Josuke Higashikata from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, who will be staying in apartment #12.3! I meant to set up a couple of posts on his journal before doing the OOC intro, but it's getting late and so I'll take care of it tomorrow, but in the meantime, there's two things to bring attention to!

First, as you can see in his icons, Josuke styles his hair in a pompadour. He TAKES GREAT CARE OF HIS HAIR and can't tolerate anyone insulting it, to the point that he'll try to beat up pretty much anyone who does that. While I am of course super stocked to play with that, I thought of giving an heads up for people who aren't exactly prepared for INSTANT VIOLENCE the moment they insult his hair.

Second, like many other characters in the Jojo universe, Josuke is a Stand user, and his Stand is capable of healing injuries among other things. Generally he is more or less the type to walk up to people and heal them without a word if he sees them seriously injured, but I will of course keep player comfort in mind and not throw him in those situations without permission! If you do need quick healing and would like him to take care of it though, I will set up a post on his journal where you can just drop a line asking for it!

That's about it for things I think need to be mentioned! I'm super looking forward playing with everyone and getting to know people!

Hullo, Haven! Roy here, I play Steve Rogers (discus) and this here is my second and final character, Stahma Tarr. She's from a series called Defiance (that's pretty rad!) about aliens intermingling on Earth. It has a lot of neat world building elements to it, and while it's not the best show ever, it's a fun romp and I do recommend it.

Stahma here is a proper Castithan lady, and I'm looking forward to throwing her at people!

Hello, Haven!! I'm Britt, and I'm bringing you a crossdresser that actually knows what she's doing. This here is Sei Tominaga from Kaze Hikaru, but she goes by Seizaburo Kamiya because she's been living as a man among the Shinsengumi for the past couple of years of her life.

I was here with her once before, about a year ago, but it was only for a short time because IRL blew up pretty spectacularly shortly after I joined, so I'm going to be starting her fresh with no Haven memories this time around. She's in apartment 12.3 this time, and I'm really looking forward to getting to play with all of you now!

Hi, Haven! I'm Marbles and I'm fresh meat! I'll be bringing in the always lovely Ororo Munroe (more commonly known as Storm) from the X-Men, and she'll be coming in from fairly current continuity. So yeah, she'll be rocking the fabulous mohawk! (<--- important)

For the unfamiliar, Ororo here is a mutant with the power to control the weather. Her emotions are tied to the weather around her so it's best you don't mess with her :') Because of her mutation, she'd been worshiped as a rain goddess when she was much younger! But she left that life so she could superhero it up with the X-Men instead. It's been a wild ride, and I'm sure that after all the adventures she's had, Haven should be a walk in the park! ... Right? Yeah! 

It looks like she'll be rooming over at block 29.3, so that should be fun! She used to have a penchant for walking around topless or in the nude, but she's mostly gotten rid of that habit. I'm also told that rain from any tiny clouds she summons is safe to drink, so she's awesome to have around: y/y? Let's have fun, roomies! ♥

Hello, all! I'm Em and I bring you Red from the video game Transistor! She's a badass lady who lost her voice but got a really cool talking sword called the Transistor in exchange (which actually is a totally bad deal cause she is was a singer), so now she kills things and lets her sword/boyfriend talk for her instead (he's a person in a sword!). They make a great pair. She's pretty much nice and the Transistor is super chatty and makes jokes, so they're generally easy to get along with, unless they need to kick your ass. Communication might be a bit of a challenge since the one who can speak can't do, and the one who can do can't speak, but they'll figure out how to make it work.

Hey Haven! I'm Pris, and was in Haven for a bit until earlier this year. Regardless, I'm back with Jotaro Kujo from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, someone... who is completely outside my usual range...

This loser acts like your typical jerk/badass with a heart of gold (though sometimes, you really need to squint to see the heart parts of him), complete with consistent stoney-faced expression. He has an unconcious penchant for embarassing one-liners (but so do a lot of other characters in this series), but also likes to partake in nerdy things such as reading books about ships and planes. He's also gigantic for some reason, I don't know, we never got an explanation for any of these character's incredible physical sizes. He's also been weirdly allowed to modify his school uniform with that ridiculous chain and tattered hat which he never takes off - even when he sleeps. Legends say it's a part of him. Anyway, Jotaro also has command over a Persona-like thing called a Stand. It punches things really fast and it hurts, and it's pretty good at precision-based manoeuvres. That's about all it does though. It's normally invisible to regular humans, but if your character has at least some basic level of spiritual awareness, they'll be able to see them. Feel free to check with me if you're ever unsure, or have any questions! Tl;dr this is pretty much all you need to know about this nerd.

Hi there Haven! You can call me Cee and I'm super duper fresh meat. THIS HERE is Cassie from the book series Animorphs. For those unfamiliar, Animorphs about five normal teens (+ an alien centaur totally obsessed with Cinnabon) who fight a nasty guerrilla war against a race of parasitic alien slugs called Yeerks. These aliens are bent on (secretly) conquering Earth by taking literal control of the population -- they worm their way into a person's brain and take complete control over the host's body. Ick.

So how do five average teens manage to fight against that? By being given alien technology that grants them the ability to morph into any animal they touch. FUN RIGHT?  Well, most of the time.  Cassie is the warm-hearted, tree-hugging, animal-loving, moral center of the series and group.  She's generally a pretty neat person.

Hi, guys! It's Tea again, and I'm going to be doing a little change up. I'm dropping Thor--Sorry to everyone I had CR with. It was a tough decision, but I realized I was really dragging on tags and I just wasn't going to get any better.

So instead have a slightly more chatty Marvel boy. I'm bring in Tony Stark of the 616 comics flavor, who won't try to avoid his phone constantly and tends to be more adaptable to weird stuff happening while managing to stay social. Tony is staying in block 15.1.

Also adding Leon Kennedy from the Resident Evil games as a bonus. He's coming from post RE6, so he's going to be very dry. (Getting old, Leon.) Leon has been put in block 4.3.

HELLO HAVENITES!! My name is Kinks and I'm totally new here to Haven! I'm happy to be playing an old favorite of mine - Oichi from Sengoku Basara (video game, anime, and gleeful anachronism of history).

She's from a time in Japanese history known as 'the warring states' and for good reason, so suffice to say she has seen some shit (thanks to her evil conqueror big bro, good ol' Oda Nobunaga) and it shows. Meaning... she's a little kooky and not always entirely coherent, but thankfully she's from a point in her timeline where she's determined to keep as clear a mind as is possible. Being basically possessed by her own powers of darkness tends to complicate this sort of thing! Despite seeming very scary, Oichi is also pretty fragile, meek, and overly apologetic, but a showing her a little warmth goes a long way.

She'll be in apartment 28.2, and I deeply apologize to her housemates ahead of time for springing a borderline j-horror ghost on them. He's a...well, he's the god of mischief, lies, and chaos...in recent years he's dropped the evil from his tool kit, but he's not above causing a healthy amount of trouble all in the name of a good time. I'm taking him from after Young Avengers and early on in Agent of Asgard. He may present himself in disguise every now and then, if it suits him, because...you know...he doesn't always get along with certain hero types even though he's been on his absolute best behavior. For the god of mischief.

Hi, my name is Noel, and I'm bringing in Gon Freecss from the series Hunter x Hunter. Gon is a simple kid who wears his heart on his sleeves, can be a little hot-headed, and is a little too impulsive for his own good. I also apped him with his experiences from asgardeventide in mind.

Hey guys! Jelle here, aka that girl who's been playing Ange (entreats) here since forever and an eternity.. finally here with someone else!

This is Heisuke Toudou from Hakuouki. He's basically 5'2" and has trouble opening most doors since his friends are blocking them from the other side. But despite appearances full of bright colors and apparently not knowing on what spot elbow and knee guards are supposed to go despite their names, Heisuke is actually one of those dead Asians sort-of-samurai types too. He comes across as a loud and way too cheery teenager, but he's actually about 22/23 and pretty good with a sword. You don't become a captain of the Shinsengumi over nothing.

He also has 99 life problems, one of which is being a blood-drinking monster thanks to a not-so-near encouter with death, and all the others are about regretting every single decision he's ever made in his life and generally feeling pretty insignificant and useless most of the time. But hey, he can totally cover that up with cheer, what's the worst that could happen in a place like Haven. Pshaw.

He's going to be housed in apartment #13.1!

Hi Haven! My name is Fal, I'm new, and I'll be playing Dio Brando (or DIO, either's fine!) from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure!

DIO's a manipulative, coercive shithead vampire of pure evil, and a massive godmode who's memetically famous for dropping road rollers on people and WRYYYY-ing. He has a lot of abilities to disclaim for and some of them are both spoilery and a bit tl;dr, so I just slapped up a permissions/opt-out post right away to cover most of that, but the most notable thing is the vampire bit and that he's a Stand user! His Stand is called The World and is pretty much a high-powered short-range punch-spammer with — sorry for spoilers if you're following the anime, I have no idea how I'll even keep this a secret while playing him in-game but at least I can do it on my intro — time-stopping abilities. So that's great for everyone.

He does have one major drawback: the sun causes him to explode into ash, so for all his power he spends most of his time being a nocturnal shut-in. He's in 31.1 all by himself, but I'll make sure to do my best to get him out there wherever I can. He'll be looking for people he can use for various means, especially once he realises Haven's got the Joestars and Friends, and I'm sure he'll become a staple of the library once he hears about it. :')

I'm Freshy, a returning player, bringing back 1 (one) Gyro Zeppeli from the 7th arc of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure! All you need to know about him is that he fights by spinning a bunch of balls, so I apologize in advance for all the ball jokes that I'll inevitably make in my brackets... He takes himself seriously, but I swear to god that I don't.

He'll be shacked up with the people in block 9.3, so apologies to everyone who has to suffer him as a roommate, he'll regale you all with his shitty singing.

Hello, it's Frejr here, player of Izumo (stealstolestolen ) and Suzurou (ewbaths ) bringing in two new characters. I obviously don't know how to control myself.

The first one is this loser, Hanasuke Onigawara (over at deadandahalf ) from the manga Countdown 7 days. He's a real nerd with a canon deathcount of 1,5. After coming back to life at the end of the manga he became able to see spirits, and he's going to freak that none of the characters in the game are with their guardian spirits. And be weirded out by himself not constantly about to die (in the way he's used to) even when he's not with a guardian spirit of his own. He's used to getting possessed, and looks a lot cooler when he is, lbr. He's described as the kind of regular guy you can find anywhere. A regular and nitpicky guy who happens to see spirits.

The second one is way cooler, but in exchange she's batshit insane. It's Gekikara from Majisuka Gakuen, which is pretty much all about AKB48 beating the crap out of each other. She's part of the Heavenly Queens of MajiJo's wind instruments club, which totally rules the school. She's in the middle of repeating her third year of high school, and in the past she's beaten local yakuza to near death. She loves blood and fighting, and thinks it's a blast getting beat up too. She's ready to beat people up, and she's fresh out of the hospital after getting stabbed, Yankee school rivalry and all that, she wouldn't want miss it.

I'm at fylgja as usual, and Hanasuke will be living in #10.3 while Gekikara will stay at #4.1.

HELLO! My name is Hei and I'm kind of new-ish (I've played into Haven for a short time, but let's not talk about my failures). Please be gentle.

I'm bringing an OC named Cameron Sauvage. HE IS a halfie of a line of old people that shared many traits with wolves and a human... No, he has no idea (he hasn't gone that far yet) what he is nor finds anything out of the ordinary aside from the stuff from home. As a wolf person old alien whatever he is, he has a dumb sense of smell. So if you're not human or just want to fill out the form anyway, permissions for letting him unconsciously smell you. Otherwise, I'll just handwave it! NO PROBLEM.

He... likes to play therapist--so he just likes listening rather than talking, but if he does talk it's blunt, snarky, or weird. Aside from everything smelling triple more than it should and his insatiable hunger, he's pretty normal. There are some insecurities, but compared to many it probably isn't a big deal. EITHER WAY, he enjoys... the domestic things, but obviously he isn't going to get much of that.

He's coming back with his memories of Haven, so there's not going to be any of that 'where am i what is this place' going on - though he will be very interested where the last few months apparently went.

so yes, he is the second little baby dick grayson that's running around. but don't worry! he's quite different than that other version (a.k.a. he wears pants instead of armored panties DO YOU NEED TO KNOW MORE).

There are a few minor announcements that need to be made, so here goes.

Firstly, Secret Santa is going to be run again this year, and sign ups to take part have now opened. They can be found on this page and will remain open until 1st December. After that, I will go through and randomize the names, and go through to let you know who you will be preparing a present for. So come and take part, it's all in good fun!

Secondly, my work has finally taken on additional staff members, so my long period of extraordinarily slow NPC tagging has come to a close! I've done all the outstanding NPC tags that were owed. Anyone who receives one is free to ignore it, continue the thread, or PM the moderator for any conclusions that might be required. If any have slipped through the cracks and you are still waiting on a thread you wish to continue, please get in contact. Once again, thank you for your patience the last couple of months, thank goodness it's finally over!

Thirdly, the app team have unanimously decided on a minor change to the application guidelines. From the next round onwards, samples cannot be "where am I" intro posts. The reason for this is that we often find it hard to gauge characterization from those, as most people when immediately in a new surrounding are confused or frightened. The guidelines will otherwise remain the same.

Finally, I have received an email from a woman who is finishing a course in psychology at Södertörns Högskola in Stockholm, Sweden. For her bachelor thesis she has chosen to write about online friendships, specifically those that are created through journal based roleplaying. She requires volunteers to help her by answering some questions - I've already taken part, and it's not too lengthy or personal, so please help out if you can. The interviews take part over AIM or gchat, so you must have access to one of these for the study. If you want to take part, please email erica01.eriksson@student.sh.se as soon as possible, as these interviews must be conducted soon.
